Comments from our Guest Book...

Everything was above expectations and the food is outstanding!  Little attentions like water & kleenex and helpful advice on everything imaginable.  A splendid guest house experience... and a memorable dog!  Richard & Josette Tanner July 2010

Friendly and informal but professional and well organised."

Four night stay for combined business and leisure purposes - the second year in succession that we've stayed at Church Farm. Mel, Martin and family are delightful people and it feels more like staying with friends than at a guest house. We plan to return again next year.  Beautiful old farmhouse that's been sympathetically restored. Spotlessly clean rooms with good facilities. Wonderful food. Attention to detail. Relaxed atmosphere with nothing too much trouble. Basil! Doug & Sue Wright June 2010

"Charming accommodation for the perfect break"

Lovely in every way would definately come back and recommend to others.  The rooms were tastefully dressed clean and bright very pleasant hosts wonderful breakfast. Lovely to have a lounge to use also. Mrs & Mr Shaw June 2010

Perfect hosts made for excellent stay with superb food, breakfast and dinner, and good accom"

From the moment we arrived and given tea and biscuits till we left after breakfast on the 4th day our hosts were charming, friendly and most helpful. The breakfasts were excellent with a very wide selection. Martin is a superb chef and the dinner served made us realise we should have eaten in every night, it was delicious. The quantities served made breakfast a struggle next day. Mel ( and Basil) make you very welcome from day 1 and this attention and friendliness never falters.  Brian & Ann Williams June 2010

Very enjoyable stay with people who make you feel welcome and treat you as friends.  Accommodation and food both excellent. Recommend it to anyone! Veronica & Jon Barnes JUNE 2010

This is an excellent B&B, one of the best we have stayed at on our John O'Groats to Lands End journey!  The suberb 4 course evening meal was of the highest standard, but we still managed a huge breakfast and all in beautiful surroundings.  More like a country house hotel than a B&B. Would be great for a family gathering or walking week with friends... Peter & Jane Harris. June 2010 www.macjogle.co.uk

We booked this accommodation for our 20th wedding anniversary and was delighted with the friendly welcome especially from Basil who came to meet us as we pulled up. A lovely peaceful location with views of the church. The room and breakfast helped to make a relaxing break. Martin & Joanne June 2010

It was a lovely homely atmosphere which made us all very welcome.  The meals were excellent - we would recommend Church Farm Guest House to anybody , especially when travelling with children - our 4 year old loved staying here!  If we get the chance to return to Shropshire we will definately return here! Love Carol, Sheila, Kerrie & Ella xxx May 2010

A warm welcome with a pot of tea on the patio after a long hot day was just what we needed!  Lovely comfortable well equipped room. Dinner was superb, especially the beef wellington & we appreciated being able to bring our own wine.  After a restful night, breakfast didn't disappoint - the yoghurt with granola & eggs benedict were fabulous.  Wish we were staying longer!  Barry & Janet Sharp May 2010

Thanks for a smashing stay in your great farm house we had a 2 lovely days in Shropshire made all the better for your great hospitality. Thanks Janet&Pete. xxx May 2010

A charming and well run house which offered all we could want and more.  The cuisine was exceptional. Thank you for a delightful, restful break.  David & Jan Nye. March 2010

Dear Martin
A day in your Cookery School proved both the most fun AND the most
informative day I have ever spent in a kitchen.  Topped off with a
four-course dinner party made it a bargain, too!  Thanks - I'll be back!

Wonderful place. Why stay anywhere else in Shropshire? (Returning guest)  Jan 2010

Just a quick note to thank you for another great stay.
I looked out for hung over delegates at the show but there were so
many it was difficult to work out who might have been staying with you!

Just a note to say thank you for a wonderful evening on Saturday.  Richards birthday was made very special.  Church Farm Guest House is such a perfect setting for such occasions and your personal service is so much appreciated - especially by me - all the enjoyment and none of the hard work!  Martins choice of menu was perfect, much enjoyed by all and especially the added treat for my son!  Our guests spending the night there were really impressed. I'm sure that next time we see him he will be twice the size after finishing Martin's Michelin star meals. Thanks and good luck. Linda & Roy Ellis, North Wales August 2009.

Hi Mel and Martin, We both wanted to send you an e-mail to thank you and Martin very much for making our stay with you perfect. You made us feel very welcome and were so helpful with baby Luke. Church Farm is wonderful and really like a home from home, we were so comfortable and settled, as was Luke, which made our stay so good. The breakfasts are fantastic and Martin's evening meals out of this world. We certainly hope to be back again and will be recommending you. many thanks, Rich, Michele and Luke. August 2009

This was our second stay at Church Farm, we returned as we enjoyed it the first time and we found it was as good as we remembered. Thanks! John & Elaine Bevins August 2009

The best B&B we've ever stayed at and far better than many hotels.  The building has been renovated and obviously with a very high quality workmanship.  The furniture, linen, curtains, decor - everything is gorgeous!  It's clean and the air is fresh & good.  Bed is great.  Food is superb.  Thank you! Mr & Mrs Skarelokke, Denmark July 2009

We loved the well behaved & friendly dog too!! Mr & Mrs Marlow, Brighton July 2009

We thoroughly enjoyed our night's stay at this B & B. The weather was miserable all weekend, but the accommodation was extremely comfortable and met all our needs. We were greeted with a complementary tea tray on arrival and the breakfast was delicious, especially the home made yoghurt pot. We would definitely stay there again given the opportunity.

Hi Mel, Just a quick note to thank you for our wedding party.  We had the most brilliant day, everything was perfect, all down to you and Martin. Thank you both so much, everyone has said how gorgeous the food was, and what a stunning location.  We wanted a relaxing, stress free and fun wedding in a beautiful setting with good food and wine and we got all of that and more (sunshine!). Our wedding was better than we could have imagined, we have so many happy memories from the day, so again many thanks. Maeve & Chris Palmer (Mrs & Mr!) Manchester

Lovely family home.  Made to feel very welcome, including our dog.  Nothing too much trouble, only needed to ask if we wanted anything.  Impressed with attention to detail, excellent food.  will be back again!  Sue & Doug Wright, Hampshire

Thank you for a very enjoyable stay.  Could be a new indicator of quality B&B 'own hens' for low food miles!

I cannot recommend this establishment highly enough. The home cooked evening meal was among the best I have had anywhere. The breakfast was easily the best I have ever had and the freshness cannot be questioned as the eggs come from the hens in the garden. M CASEY MAY 2009 LATEROOMS.COM

Would find it very hard to fault our short stay at church farm. We were made very welcome from the moment we arrived and soon realised that nothing was too much trouble and came away feeling as if we had been visiting friends. N.B they do need to keep a close eye on pricing while the economy is in freefall, i would hate to see them suffer due to the downturn. K STONE APRIL 2009 LATEROOMS.COM

One of the warmest guest houses I've stayed in. While I was in the area for business, I felt I was on some holiday / retreat. Great food, amazing hosts with a great dog and cute kids. Wouldn't hesitate to go back. AZIM H LONDON

We have just come home after my father's wedding at Church Farm.  Wow, what a day!!  The setting was beautiful, the food was fabulous (really really good) and Mel was so hospitable to us all and especially with our 5 month old son!  She thought of everything and made it so easy for us to enjoy our stay.  The rooms are lovely too! It was like staying with old friends, so relaxed and welcoming...nothing was too much trouble!  Highly Highly recommended.
Nikki Hadfield, Cheshire - 26th July 2008

Hello Mel,
a quick email to say thank you very much for making our stay so pleasant, all 3 of us had a wonderful time. You made us feel very welcome and were so helpful with our 3 month old baby and all her needs. Being away from home could have been a difficult experience but you made it so easy by your helpfulness, you helped take away any potential stress. You have a gorgeous guest house, our room was perfect, the breakfasts were so tasty, and all the little things like fresh milk for drinks, a meal in your pub or recommending places to visit added up to make a really enjoyable time. Thank you!

We have just enjoyed a brilliant weekend at Church Farm B&B. Mel and Martin are great hosts both at the Farm and at the Plough. Mel went out of her way to help our daughter with her lap-top connection to the internet, she also organised taxi transport for us and helped with arrangements when we attended our friends' wedding reception. The food was delicious at both places with good quality ale and the menu lived up to it's ratings from the press.  The service re. timing of meals was very accommodating. Bedrooms and en-suite facilities were excellent.  Thank you both and of course your lovely family, for making our weekend so easy and enjoyable.
Ruth and Lionel Hilton (Isle of Wight). June 2008

Most enjoyable and looking forward to my next stay there. I travel a lot and finding a good place and good food is hard. The food was awesome at church farm so was the staff and atmosphere.
Mr Nico Tack - Laterooms.com 30 June 2008

The beds were some of the most comfortable we have found anywhere. The rooms were clean and the en-suite facilities excellent. Unfortunately we did not eat due to illness but we can recommend The Plough for an excellent meal (the Chef was co-owner of the Guest House). Mel dealt with our illness with commendable promptness and arranged for a swift visit to the local Doctor - very kind and considerate. Highly receommended.
